Department responded to a smoke alarm from the restaurant 10 Downing Food and Wine (located right under my apartment). For an hour they clomped through the building, unable to find the source. And so they left. But the smoke increased and within the hour they were back. This time they found the source - a light bulb recessed into the ceiling of the restaurant's entry foyer had caught fire and ignited some nearby wood. more »Department responded to a smoke alarm from the restaurant 10 Downing Food and Wine (located right under my apartment). For an hour they clomped through the building, unable to find the source. And so they left. But the smoke increased and within the hour they were back. This time they found the source - a light bulb recessed into the ceiling of the restaurant's entry foyer had caught fire and ignited some nearby wood. The firemen cut through the top of the door and tore open the ceiling, removing the offending source of the smoke. The evidence, a burned bulb and charred wood were taken away by the Fire Captain.
